Evans High Student found with knife on campus

Parents of Evans High School students were notified Friday afternoon of an incident in which a student was found with a knife on campus.

According to a statement released by the Columbia County School District, during an investigation for an unrelated incident, the student ran from administrators.

CCSD Police safely located the student in the parking lot and upon further investigation, a knife was discovered in the student’s possession.

No threat was made, and the knife was immediately secured.

According to the statement, “The student is being held accountable according to the code of conduct and the law.”
