An Evans man was arrested Tuesday on accusations that he uploaded dozens of images and videos of child sexual acts while living in Grovetown last year.

Stanley Hester, 20, is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography. There is no indication that he produced the videos or engaged in sex acts, just that he shared the files, authorities said.

Grovetown police joined the GBI and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office in executing a search warrant Tuesday morning at the suspect’s house on Hunters Cove in Evans.

“This search warrant was the result of an investigation following a Cybertip received through the GBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC),” Grovetown Police Chief Jamey Kitchens said in a press release. “The tip revealed that several dozen sexually explicit images and videos involving children had been uploaded in October of 2022 to an online cloud system from devices registered to Mr. Stanley Hester.”

At that time, Hester lived with his parents at a residence on the 4000 block of Vine Lane, located within the city limits of Grovetown. Hester was located at the residence on Hunters Cove and taken into custody.

“Multiple electronic devices were located at the residence and seized as part of the ongoing investigation as additional charges may be forthcoming,” Chief Kitchens said.

Hester is being held without bond.
