A domestic violence incident in Evans on Thursday has resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old man after an altercation with his aunt.

Authorities responded to a call on Saddle Circle where Julia Vratsolis reported that her nephew, Holden Eackloff, physically assaulted her during a dispute.

According to Vratsolis, the confrontation escalated when Eackloff accused her of taking his “Suboxone” pills. She alleged that he wrestled her to the floor in her bedroom, preventing her from leaving or calling for help. The struggle continued in the living room, where Vratsolis reported that Eackloff headbutted her while they were on the couch, a sheriff’s report says.

When law enforcement arrived, Eackloff had already left the scene in a blue four-door Toyota sedan. Officers noted disarray throughout the residence, including overturned furniture and scattered items, particularly in Vratsolis’s bedroom. She displayed significant injuries, including a large bruise on her forehead and multiple scratches on her arms.

Vratsolis was provided with a victim assistance pamphlet and transported to Doctors Hospital by Gold Cross Unit 22 for further evaluation.

Following the incident, police obtained warrants for Eackloff, charging him with battery and false imprisonment. A judge set a special conditions bond that includes a no-contact order.

Eackloff later turned himself in at the local substation. Upon his arrival, he was read his Miranda rights, but chose to remain silent regarding the incident. Officers documented scratches on his neck and jaw during the booking process. He was subsequently taken to the county detention center.
