The storm that showed Augusta its worst also brought out the best in many area residents.
CityServe Augusta is hosting an event at the Augusta Common to honor them Nov. 16.
It will feature the “Faces of Helene,” highlighting local heroes “whose invaluable efforts have been key to our ongoing recovery,” according to a statement.
The event, held from noon to 7 p.m. will feature live music, inflatables, food trucks and a raffle.
It includes a long list of partners which include the City Hope Alliance, local law enforcement and fire/EMA, the Savannah Riverkeeper, Resourced Augusta, the Greater Augusta Arts Council, Alleluia Community, the Augusta Baha’i Community, Garden City Jazz and the city of Augusta.
