Extended Stay America Premier Suites Augusta held its grand opening Thursday, March 9 at its location off Interstate Parkway, in a ceremony comprised of both a red and green ribbon cutting.

The 124-room extended-stay hotel opened in August of last year, roughly two years after its owner, Evans-based developer Greenway Hospitality, submitted the project for review to Augusta Planning and Development.

“Everybody who knows golf knows Augusta, and anybody who knows Augusta knows the Greenway family, very well entrenched in the community,” said Mark Williams, managing director of franchise development with Extended Stay America. “This is another example of them investing in town business.”

The hotel is tucked away near the intersection of the Interstate Parkway and Wheeler Road corridors, just west of the Doctors Hospital campus.
