Face-covered suspect sought after bold robbery at Augusta Dollar General

Date: December 12, 2025

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect accused of robbing the Dollar General at 2549 Deans Bridge Road on Thursday evening.

Investigators say the individual, described as approximately 5’11’’ to 6’02’’ and 180–200 pounds, entered the store wearing a face covering and committed an armed robbery before fleeing the area on foot toward Murphy Road around 6:38 p.m. Deputies say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who recognizes the person or has information about their whereabouts is asked to contact Inv. Mathis at 706-821-4848 or 706-821-1080.

As images from the wanted flyer circulated online, many local residents voiced frustration and concern on social media.

Eddie Moody wrote that store employees should be more vigilant: “Don’t understand why someone that works in these businesses, when someone comes into their stores dressed like this, the people that is working there does not watch them like a hawk because these people that are dressed like this is up to no good.”

Others expressed discomfort with face coverings inside businesses. Tammy Keel commented: “Stop allowing face mask and covering!!!”

Roderick Harrison echoed concerns about suspicious attire, saying, “If I saw this person walking in a store like this I know they’re up to something.”

Some residents suggested that despite the face covering, the suspect’s clothing might still be recognizable. Kimberley Johnson noted, “Somebody definitely recognizes that outfit.”
