WHAT: Rumor shared on a Springlakes Facebook page that a debris hauler told a homeowner that they are discontinuing work after this week
FACTS: “This is not a true statement at all,” said Cassidy Harris, public relations manager for Columbia County. “We are finishing up our first pass and still have a second pass to complete.”
The debris removal trucks are contracted to remove the debris by Columbia County, which then seeks reimbursement from FEMA for the work. Columbia County has been posting updates on where debris pick-up is occurring on its Facebook page.
