Feed Sack restaurant featured on TV show coming to North Augusta

The Feed Sack in North Augusta is opening a year after the original location opened in Aiken.

Date: August 12, 2023

A popular Aiken restaurant and wine bar called The Feed Sack is opening a North Augusta location.

The American comfort cuisine eatery featuring steaks, fish, burgers and sandwiches will open on Monday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. at 1069 Edgefield Road.

“We had a lot of customers driving up from North Augusta so we though, ‘Why don’t we open a location there?'” said owner Greg Pierce.

Pierce, who is retired from the liquor and wine business, and his wife, Angie Roberts, who was formerly a corporate trainer in the food industry, opened the Aiken location in July 2022. For the new location, they’re partnering with Mike Iezzi, who owns the Wendy’s restaurant nearby.

“We picked the location for the traffic off of Exit 5 and because there were no other buildings available in North Augusta that were big enough,” Pierce said.

The restaurant will have a piano player five nights a week and free wine tastings once a month. The menu will change at least four times a year.

The owners are planning to be open for six days a week to start and will then move to opening on Sundays as well on Oct. 1.

Fans of the restaurant can look out for the Aiken location on an upcoming episode of the online show America’s Best Restaurants. Local fans nominated the restaurant for the show that can be viewed on YouTube.

The team is discussing possible locations for other Feed Sacks, Pierce said.

“It’s a nice, casual, classy, comfortable environment that suits everyone’s tastes,” he said.
