Two more candidates have thrown their hats into the ring to run in the 2022 Augusta mayoral election. Lori Myles and Donald Bradshaw have filed with the Richmond County Board of Elections, stating their intent to vie for the seat.
Neither of the new candidates made a public announcement.
Myles, a retired educator, has run for election several times, most recently running for the District 3 spot in 2020 against Catherine Smith-McKnight. Prior to that, Myles ran unsuccessfully against John Clarke in 2018 for the District 10 commission seat and in 2014, she ran for mayor against Hardie Davis.
Bradshaw, owner of a securities brokerage firm, is a political newcomer.

Filing an intent letter does not officially create a candidacy. It merely allows for the potential candidate to solicit campaign funds. Serious contenders for the spot must pay a $1,000 fee to officially qualify. The deadline for qualifying is in March of 2022.
Neither Myles or Bradshaw were available for comment.
The pair join eight other individuals who have filed their intent to accept campaign donations. The roster also includes former Mayor Pro Tem Marion Williams, school board member Charlie Hannah, Democratic operative Robert Ingham Jr., Restaurateur Albert Newsome, Tax Commissioner Steven Kendrick, businessman Brian Marcus, Commissioner Dennis WIlliams and businessman Garnett Johnson.
Current Mayor Hardie Davis is barred from running for his position again due to term limits.
