First responders to face off in Inaugural Guns ‘N’ Hoses softball tournament

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — The Augusta GreenJackets, Single-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, are set to host the first-ever Guns ‘N’ Hoses Softball Tournament at SRP Park on Sunday, May 4.

The one-day event will feature six law enforcement and emergency service teams from across the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), all competing for bragging rights and a championship title.

The tournament will celebrate the work of first responders while also raising funds for FireK, a nonprofit that supports firefighting families facing cancer-related financial challenges.

“We’re excited to host this new event at SRP Park on May 4 with various organizations across the CSRA,” said GreenJackets Director of Marketing Catie Graf. “It’s a great opportunity for us to show our gratitude to our first responders, have some fun competition, and support a great cause.”

Teams Competing:

  • North Augusta Public Safety
  • Aiken Public Safety
  • Aiken County Sheriffs
  • Richmond County Sheriffs
  • Augusta Fire
  • SRS Fire

The gates open at 9 a.m., with the first game beginning at 9:30 a.m. between North Augusta Public Safety and Augusta Fire. Each game will be capped at one hour or seven innings, and the championship game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Game Schedule:

  • 9:30 a.m. – North Augusta Public Safety vs. Augusta Fire
  • 10:30 a.m. – Aiken County Sheriffs vs. Richmond County Sheriffs
  • 11:30 a.m. – SRS Fire vs. Game 1 Winner
  • 12:30 p.m. – Aiken Public Safety vs. Game 2 Winner

Tickets are $10 (plus fees), with a portion of proceeds going to FireK. Fans can enjoy limited concessions throughout the day, and The Hive Pro Shop will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The tournament also kicks off the countdown to First Responders Night at SRP Park on Tuesday, May 20, when the GreenJackets will play the Charleston RiverDogs.
