At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, an email was sent to all Augusta University staff alerting them of flooding in undergraduate dorms.

“We are working through a major flooding issue in Oak Hall. We are moving several of the students living in Oak to Elm Hall,” said an email from Associate Vice President and Dean of Students Scott T. Wallace.

According to the email, the flooding began just after 10 p.m. on Monday, March 27, and did not stop until after midnight.

“Many of the residents were still awake as the flooding affected every floor. It is 2:30 a.m. and several are still awake and being relocated,” the email said.

As a result of the late inconvenience, professors were asked to give students leeway for early classes.

According to Heather Henley, director of Brand Communications of Augusta University’s Communications and Marketing Department, only six students were affected by the flooding in Oak Hall, and were back in their respective dorms later that same day, March 28.
