The foreclosure sale of seven parcels in Riverside Village did not occur as scheduled Monday morning at the Aiken County Judicial Center.
Attorneys for both Greenstone, the Atlanta-based developer that owns the land, and its lender, First Community Bank, appeared before the judge and requested the sale be postponed.

Neither attorney was available for comment when the proceeding ended.
North Augusta City Administrator Jim Clifford attended the sale and said he was surprised by the outcome.
“I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect coming out of these proceedings,” he said. “The hope had been that they would settle their differences prior to coming to this court date.”

The attorneys asked the judge to postpone the sale until August to give the developer and the bank the chance to negotiate an agreement.
