A second former Augusta commissioner has died this week.
Richard Colclough passed away at his home Friday from natural causes, Coroner Mark Bowen confirmed.
Colclough, 86, was twice elected to represent District 4 on the Augusta Commission. He helped bring the anti-crime Weed & Seed program to Barton Village.
Colclough resigned in 2006 to run for the Georgia House of Representatives, losing in the Democratic primary to former Mayor Hardie Davis.
His death follows the Wednesday passing of former Commissioner Bernard Harper. Harper was elected in 2006 to complete Colclough’s commission term.
