After a successful debut season, the Columbia County Performing Arts Center’s Broadway series returns with four shows this year. The shows are a blend of classic Broadway with a recent smash thrown in the mix.

Newly hired general manager Josh Small was “very excited” as he announced the offerings at a news conference Monday.

Tickets for “Annie,” “My Fair Lady,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “The Book of Mormon” will go on sale at 10 a.m. July 19 at ticketmaster.com. The four-show season package will be available first with individual tickets going on sale in September.

The season begins in October with the family-favorite “Annie,” the 1977 Tony-Award musical based on the comic strip Little Orphan Annie.

The classic “My Fair Lady” comes to the stage Feb. 2, 2023.

The Andrew Lloyd Weber rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar” heads to the theater March 9, 2023.

The season ends May 3 and 4, 2023 with two nights of “The Book of Mormon,” the 2011 satire focusing on the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints.

The theater opened in May 2021 and saw about 28 productions in its opening year. Many of them were community organizations who utilized the space.

In addition to the Broadway series, other performances are scheduled at the venue.

Singer-songwriter, Boz Scaggs, hits the center for a concert Monday, July 25. Tickets are still available for the show.

Scaggs’ musical career is in its seventh decade, having started in the 1960s. He’s had  hits such as “Lido Shuffle” and “Lowdown.” He’s won one Grammy and been nominated seven times. His most recent nomination was for best contemporary blues album in 2019.

The legendary Frankie Valli is scheduled for a fall concert.

Valli’s career began in the 1950s, but he didn’t become a success until he became the front man for The Four Seasons. The musical “Jersey Boys” is based on the group’s story.

Valli will be in concert Oct. 28.
