A retired music professor and the grandparent of a child who drowned have each been indicted for child molestation. Two women were also indicted on for an Oct. 3 homicide.
A Richmond County grand jury returned these and other indictments Dec. 19. An indictment is a formal statement of charges, but not a statement of guilt or innocence.
Mary Lucile Moore, 55, and Trinaca Adaye Moore, 52, whose relationship is unknown, have been jailed since October for the Oct. 3 murder of Precious D’Antignac. D’Antignac, 33, was found dead from gunfire in her Maxwell Street home.
Mary Lucile Moore, who has a 2000 conviction for second-degree murder in Florida, was indicted on eight counts, including malice murder and felony murder.
She also was indicted Dec. 19 for two counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated assault.
Moore has been jailed without bond since her arrest.
Trinaca Adaye Moore has a shorter list of counts that include felony murder, aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Trinaca Moore was arrested in October, but is not in Richmond County custody.
Carl Edwin Purdy, 63, faces a three-count indictment for child molestation involving two victims under the age of 16.
The violinist was indicted for putting his hands on the girls’ breasts during the summer of 2019 and grinding himself against one of them in a “series of incidents” that took place in 2014-2019, according to the indictment.
In the second case, Miguel Diaz Martinez, 70, was indicted on three counts of child molestation, aggravated sexual battery and criminal attempt to commit a felony.
At an October bond hearing, prosecutors said the Army retiree was a predator who preyed on children as young as nine.
Martinez, one of the great-grandparents caring for a Hephzibah toddler who drowned in July, has been in jail since September on molestation charges.
