Freddy’s restaurant opens in Augusta

Date: April 27, 2025

Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers opened in Augusta, Saturday morning, along the busy Washington Road thoroughfare near Interstate 20.

Originally scheduled for Wednesday, the opening of Augusta’s first location of the fast-food chain restaurant had been postponed, first to Friday, then to Saturday morning, with signs in the window stating training was still in progress.

The new restaurant is tucked away off Washington Road behind the 7 Brew coffee shop, the two establishments sharing parking lot access. Last year the burger chain purchased the parcel, which sits between 7 Brew and a stripped hotel building still owned by Wynn Hotels Augusta.

Freddy’s, headquartered in Wichita, Kan., has some 500 locations nationwide. The Augusta restaurant is currently its 23rd in Georgia, with its closest in-state neighbor being in Athens. The North Augusta Freddy’s, on Martintown Road, opened in 2023, among South Carolina’s 12 locations.

Freddy’s Augusta is located at 109 Charlestowne Way.
