FreshTake is looking to introduce a new event to Augusta in its first year.

This weekend the supermarket is inaugurating its FreshTake Fall Fest, an autumn-themed shindig slated to span the day with live entertainment, carnival games, food — including free hot dogs and apple cider —and other activities, such as face painting and pumpkin decorating.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. a family-friendly DJ will provide background entertainment, with the MP3 Band playing live from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Light-up trick-or-treat bags await the first 300 kids to stop by, while Oktoberfest beer on draft at Jackson’s Bar will be available for attendees 21 and over. For those coming by to shop, the event coincides with the store’s Fall Flavors Sale and seasonal product bundles available during the event.

“Our goal is to create a family event that brings our community together to celebrate the season,” said FreshTake owner Jackson Mitchell. “We’re excited to offer an afternoon of music, food, and fall fun while also showcasing the best of what FreshTake has to offer.”

FreshTake opened early this year after roughly two years in development. The experimental grocery store, whose 42,000 square houses the store alongside several amenities, began renovating the space in late 2023.

Its inaugural Fall Fest will be Saturday, Oct. 18, at the store’s location at 2907 Washington Road.
