The Georgia and South Carolina Departments of Transportation have a gift for motorists over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Both states have announced on-going road projects will be temporarily suspended to ease traffic congestion.
In Georgia, the construction-related lane closures on interstates and major state routes will be suspended from 12 p.m. May 28 through 5 a.m. June 1.

Lane closures will also be suspended in the Palmetto State. That will run from 6 a.m. May 28 through 6 a.m. June 1.
Motorists traveling through both states can access real-time traffic and road conditions by dialing 511. The information is also available at www.511ga.org and www.511sc.org 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
