The Supreme Court of Georgia has upheld the conviction of Shanadore Harmon for the 2015 murder of Brittany Trantham in Augusta.
Trantham, 21, was in the passenger seat of her car being driven by Jermaz Lawson on Oct. 25, 2015, the night of the killing.

An argument between in-laws Lawson and Harmon, now 44, that began at Limelite Cafe ended up in a fight near family members’ homes on Cunningham Drive.

Witnesses testified Harmon shot at the car as it was driving away.
Gunfire entered the car’s back window and Trantham’s headrest before it went in her head.
She was declared dead two days later, leaving behind a toddler son.
On appeal, Harmon argued his trial counsel was ineffective for failing to object to a statement Lawson made to police, but the Supreme Court determined evidence was sufficient to convict him.
He is serving a sentence of life without parole plus 35 years.
