The heart-wrenching tragedy in Gloverville continues to unfold as a third child has died from injuries sustained in a devastating house fire early Monday morning.

Semerah Jordan, 6, who had been fighting for her life at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, succumbed to her injuries at 4:28 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Her passing comes just days after the fire claimed the lives of her sisters, 6-year-old Serahya and 8-year-old Deandolyn Jordan.

Semerah was transported to Doctor’s Hospital following the fire, where she had been receiving critical care. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office confirmed her death and stated that an autopsy will be performed in Newberry to determine the exact cause of death. This tragic loss marks the third young life taken by the fire that has devastated the Gloverville community.

The fire began around 12:50 a.m. Monday at the family’s home on the 200 block of Pine Street. The blaze quickly consumed the house, with heavy smoke and flames pouring from the windows when firefighters and deputies arrived. Serahya and Deandolyn were tragically pronounced dead at Aiken Regional Medical Centers after being rescued from the burning home. Semerah was initially transported to Doctor’s Hospital in critical condition, where she later passed away.

The children’s mother, Jessica Jordan, was found outside the home with her surviving son. She and the other child, though injured, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the fire, but investigations are ongoing with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and the Coroner’s Office involved.

In the wake of this tragedy, the Gloverville community has rallied around the Jordan family. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with funeral and medical expenses.

As the investigation continues, authorities urge anyone with information about the fire to come forward, while the family, the community, and all who knew the children continue to grieve this unimaginable loss.
