The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will discuss a proposed rezoning request for Grace Place Mission Center.

The nonprofit center, which is run by Grace Baptist Church of Evans, is looking to move to a new permanent location at 418 Old Evans Road. The church is requesting a rezoning from Single-family Residential (R-3) to Special District Zoning (S-1) for a proposed food pantry and clothing ministry and small group meeting place.

Staff is recommending approval of the rezoning request.

Also on the agenda is a Major S-1 (Special) revision to increase the sign allowance for the Wellstar Hospital being built in Grovetown. The applicant is looking to place multiple signs throughout the property. Staff is recommending approval.

Under the consent agenda is a resolution to create the Columbia County Regional Library System and dissolving the Library Advisory Board. The Community and Emergency Services Committee approved moving forward with the resolution during the meeting on June 24. Items under the consent agenda are approved as one and there is typically no discussion by commissioners.

The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, July 1 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Evans Government Center Complex. For more information, visit columbiacountyga.gov.
