Graniteville teen is found shot in the head in Aiken neighborhood

A Graniteville man died Monday after being found shot in a car in an Aiken neighborhood, authorities said.

Amari Williams, 19, was found shot in the head inside a car around 7:20 p.m. Monday when Aiken officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of Redd Street and Tennessee Avenue. He was rushed to Aiken Regional Medical Centers, where he was pronounced dead at 7:57 pm., Coroner Darryl Ables said. (GOFUNDME: https://gofund.me/72f461f3)

Aiken Public Safety officers did not comment on any possible motive or suspects. The victim’s mother says he was visiting his nephew and a friend at the time. “The bullet was meant for the friend, not him,” she said.
