Green Meadows Golf Club could have a new owner by the end of the year.
Online, the course still appears to be open. But on the grounds of 2900 Green Meadows Dr., chains on the gates are locked tight, and the property is overgrown and in disarray. The phone number has been changed, and the new number is unknown.

A tax levy sale is scheduled for Aug. 3, 2021. The owners have until that date to pay the overdue taxes. Charles Williams, levy officer, said they are one year behind on the taxes and owe about $20,000.
“They’ve told me that they’re going to pay it,” he said.
The owner has up to a year and one day to pay the taxes and reclaim the property, even if it changes hands in the August sale.

“Georgia law states that even if we sell it in August, they have up to a year to come back and get it,” Williams said. That’s a rule that exists for any tax sale, not just the golf club.
The owner of the property made a partial payment earlier this year in an agreement that businesses across the area were afforded by city tax officials.
