SALISBURY, MD: The Augusta GreenJackets (12-18) went off on the Delmarva Shorebirds (13-19) once again on Wednesday night, led by Connor Blair who delivered the best performance of his young career as Augusta won their second straight by a score of 15-4.
It all started in the first inning with the GreenJackets getting on the board with a bases-loaded walk to Adam Zebrowski to make it 1-0 Augusta. Blair would then begin his incredible night with a bases-clearing double down the left field line to give the GreenJackets a quick 4-0 lead.
The Shorebirds cut that deficit in half in the bottom of the inning on a two-run homer to make it 4-2.
But Augusta would take command after that. In the third, Connor Blair struck again with a solo home run to give himself four RBIs through two at-bats, making it 5-2 GreenJackets. Geraldo Quintero would plate home another run on a fielder’s choice to push the lead to 6-2 after three.

An inning later, two more runs scored on a two-run single by Francisco Floyd to up the advantage to 8-2.
In the fifth, the GreenJackets added two more with an RBI double by Geraldo Quintero and a sacrifice fly by Brandol Mezquita to add on to the lead, making it a 10-2 game.
Delmarva scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth, but Augusta had an immediate answer in the sixth on an RBI double by Brian Klein to push the lead back to eight at 11-4.
Connor Blair put an exclamation point on the night for the GreenJackets in the seventh as he cranked his second home run of the game over the wall in left. His three-run bomb gave him a career-high seven RBIs to give Augusta a double-digit advantage of 14-4.
Brandon Parker would deliver one final blow in the ninth with a solo home run as the GreenJackets cruised to their second straight win over Delmarva by a score of 15-4.
Miguel Peña (2-1) earned the win in relief for Augusta with Delmarva starter Deivy Cruz (1-1) taking the loss.

Connor Blair’s huge performance was the main story on Wednesday night as the Augusta outfielder finished with career-highs in hits (4), home runs (2), RBIs (7), and total bases (11) as he put together the most productive night by a GreenJackets’ position player in 2022. The offense also got notable contributions from Geraldo Quintero and Francisco Floyd who each had two hits and two RBIs, with Brandon Parker going deep in the ninth for his team-best tenth home run of the season. The GreenJackets drew 11 more walks on Wednesday night in addition to 14 hits, 6 of them going for extra bases.
Augusta will look to make it three straight wins in Salisbury on Thursday night as Jorge Bautista takes the ball for the GreenJackets against Moises Chacè for the Shorebirds with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The tenth homestand of the season for the GreenJackets begins on Tuesday, August 16 against the Charleston RiverDogs (Tampa Bay Rays) with $2 TWOsday and First Responder Tuesday. The week continues with Warrior Wednesday, the Corona Bucket Special, and Baseball Bingo. Thursday is a double-header at SRP Park starting at 5:05 with a special appearance from the Dueling Pianos Group and Thirsty Thursday. The weekend begins with Sweetwater Night at the ballpark with specialty jerseys with an auction that will benefit North Augusta Forward/FROG in addition to Braves BUZZFest.
