The Augusta GreenJackets, the Single-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, will host their final series of the season against the Columbia Fireflies beginning Tuesday, Aug. 19, with six themed nights and a Hall of Fame induction ceremony highlighting the week.
The homestand opens Tuesday with “Tacos & Tallboys,” offering $2 tacos and $8 domestic tallboys. Fans can also enjoy Tail Waggin’ Tuesday, where fans can bring their pups to SRP Park for free.
“Dogs can sit anywhere in the lower bowl and must be leashed throughout the game,” according to a press release from the GreenJackets. First responders will also receive discounted admission and recognition opportunities, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors.
Wednesday’s promotions include Baseball Bingo and Silver Jackets night for fans 60 and older. Military members, veterans, and their families will also be honored with $2 off tickets at the box office.
Thursday’s “Thirsty Thursday” turns SRP Park into “the hottest nightclub in town,” the team said, with drink specials from 6 to 8 p.m.
Friday marks one of the most anticipated nights of the season. The GreenJackets will induct Charlie Culberson into their Hall of Fame during a pregame ceremony, according to a press release from the GreenJackets.
“Fans can purchase a VIP Package that includes a chance to meet Charlie before the general public, a ticket to the 3rd Base Bullpen Patio with All-You-Can-Eat buffet, guaranteed bobblehead, and photo of Charlie,” a GreenJackets press release stated.
The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a commemorative Culberson bobblehead, courtesy of Augusta Technical College.
The evening also features Braves BUZZFest, Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Night, and Scout Night with a sleepover option for participating troops.
Saturday, Aug. 23, the GreenJackets will play as the Pavos Salvajes de Augusta for the final time this year. The night will include a jersey auction benefiting the National Wild Turkey Federation, a White Claw pre-game concert, live music on the concourse, and the “Fireworks Extravaganza: Vuelvete Loco.”
The homestand concludes Sunday with Auggie’s Birthday Celebration, Wrestling Night, and a Jr. Jackets Kids Club game.
Kids 12 years and under can sign up, and young fans will also enjoy pregame catch on the field and a chance to run the bases postgame.
