Grovetown police confiscated 10 pounds of marijuana and four pounds of fentanyl pills on Wednesday morning from a resident who was on probation for earlier drug offenses.

Jabari Bostick, 30, was being checked during a joint operation by police and the Department of Community Supervision. It was part of a compliance check on several individuals currently on probation and parole who are residing in Grovetown city limits.

He was found with the marijuana as well as several thousand suspected Fentanyl pills that weighed over four pounds, police said. Bostick is actively on probation from Richmond County for a number of previous charges including cocaine possession, marijuana possession and obstruction.

Authorities found additional narcotics as well as packaging and scales consistent with distribution in Bostick’s vehicle, according to Grovetown Public Safety Chief Jamey Kitchens. The suspect is facing charges of fentanyl trafficking and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was being processed Wednesday morning at the Columbia County Detention Center.

“This investigation continues and additional charges may be forthcoming,” Chief Kitchens said in a press release.
