Grovetown, Cross Creek advance to the state finals; Thomson loses

Two more area teams head to the state finals in Macon after wins Saturday.

Grovetown pulled its game out against Langston Hughes in a nailbiter 68-63.

Turnovers plagued Grovetown.         

At one point, the Warriors had a wide lead of 58-42, but Langston Hughes went on a streak and even pulled past Grovetown 63-62 with only 1:40 left on the clock.

The Warriors will take on Buford for the AAAAAA title at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Macon.

Defending state champion Cross Creek High School will play in the finals after defeating Beach 52-44. The Razorbacks will play Windsor Forest, who knocked off Thomson 60-53, at 3 p.m. Friday for the AAA state title in Macon.
