A Grovetown man was arrested Tuesday on allegations that he snuck into the room of a 16-year-old girl and sexually assaulted her, authorities said.

Jason Dutton, 35, was charged Tuesday with aggravated sodomy. A booking sheet lists his employer as the U.S. Army.

According to a sheriff’s report, the victim’s mother had allowed Dutton to sleep at her home in Martinez overnight on July 4th after the suspect drank too much at their party. The mother said Dutton was a close family friend.

“Her daughter told her Jason Dutton entered her bedroom multiple times and placed his hands in her genital areas,” the report says. “She stated her daughter told her he penetrated her with his finger and performed oral sex on her.”

The victim’s father had put Dutton on their couch downstairs around 2 a.m. July 5 before going to bed himself.

“After her daughter told her what happened, she and her husband made Mr. Dutton leave,” the report says.

Oddly enough, the victim’s father told authorities that he had placed their youngest son in the bedroom with his sister. But when everyone got up, his son was in a different room. The son told him someone moved him out of bed sometime during the night.
