Grovetown High School (1-2) stunned Greenbrier (1-2) 32-16 on Friday, Sept. 10 at the Wolfpack Den stadium.
Grovetown’s running back Joseph Jean broke off yard an 80-yard run midway through the first quarter, making first and goal for the Warriors.
Quarterback Zaidon Gunn ran in the 2-yard touchdown for Grovetown. Jean added the two-point conversion for Grovetown to make it 8-0.
Early in the second quarter, Greenbrier would fumble a punt on fourth down, putting Grovetown in great field position.

A few plays later, Grovetown’s Jean ran in the 4-yard touchdown with 10:34 remaining in the second quarter. The warriors converted the 2-point conversion with the keeper by Gunn to make it 16-0.
The Warriors strong defense held the Wolfpack scoreless in the first half.
Grovetown started out the second half right where they left off with a 40-yard touchdown run by running back Jean, scoring his second touchdown of the game. Gunn added the two-point conversion to make it 24-0.
Late in the third quarter, the Wolfpack scored their first touchdown of the game with a 29-yard touchdown pass receiver to Davin Driskell from quarterback Brooks Pangle. Greenbrier added the two-point conversion to make it 24-8 with 3:09 remaining in the third quarter.
Gunn broke off for a long 48-yard touchdown run with 10:02 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Warriors added the two-point conversion to make it 32-8.
The Wolfpack kept fighting, with Pangle connecting with Driskell for a 56-yard score. Malik Leverett caught the two-point conversion to make it 32-16 with 9:16 remaining in the game.
Greenbrier would try to make a come back late in the game but gave up a safety with under two minutes remaining, making it 34-16 for the final score.
Grovetown’s next game will be at home against Southeast Bulloch next Friday, Sept 17. Greenbrier will be on the road against Loganville on the same day.
