Grovetown to hold special election in 2024

The City of Grovetown will be holding a special election in 2024 to fill the vacant city council seat.

The seat became vacant when former council member Dr. Deborah Fisher resigned to run for mayor. According to City Clerk Brian Henderson, the election will take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. The term being filled will expire on Dec. 31, 2025. 

Qualifying will Monday, Dec. 11 through Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the City Clerk’s office, 103 Old Wrightsboro Road. There is a fee of $150 to qualify. 

Those who want to vote in the election, and are not registered, must register by Monday, Feb. 12.
