The health inspection world grades a score below 70 as failing, however, no restaurants, pools or hotels received a failing score from inspections conducted on Dec. 15-19.
Worst scores in this week’s health inspection
This week’s worst score was a 70 belonging to Red Crab, 3206 Peach Orchard Road, Suite 6, Augusta.
During the inspection, the inspector noticed employees not washing their hands enough and deducted nine points for the violation.
“Observed employees switching task and failing to wash hands between task,” the report said.
Four points were deducted for the blocked handwashing sink and one handwashing sink with no soap and a paper towel dispenser not working
Another four points were deducted the inspector noticed mold in the ice maker. Nine points were deducted for food not being properly stores.
“Observed chicken at 85F and 71F stored on a storage rack,” the report said.
Wings House, 2115 Windsor Spring Road, Suite 14 and Korean Food Express, 2857 Tobacco Road Unit 6, Hephzibah, both earned scores of 80 to tie for the second worst score of the week
“Observed both employees not hands prior to food preparation. Observed both employees opt for gloves after instructed to wash hands prior to,” said the report. This violation resulted in a nine-point deduction.
Four points were deducted for food stored improperly.
“Observed eggrolls and other food items stored uncovered in RIC below prep top cooler,” the inspection said.
Three points were deducted for food being improperly labeled.
“Observed unlabeled bulk containers holding sugar in dry storage area,” the inspection said.
Another three were deducted when the inspector “observed food stored floor near dish line as well as inside WIC.”
Another three points were deducted for an employee wearing jewelry during food prep.
One point was deducted for utensils improperly stores.
“Observed scoops left stored inside sugar and seasoning containers,” the inspection said.
For Korean Food Express, nine points were deducted for food not being stored at the correct temperature.
“Observed TCS food in PTC not being held at 41F or below,” the inspection said.
Four points were deducted for items not being properly marked.
“Observed TCS food items in PTC that need prep and discard dates,” the inspection said.
Three points were deducted for containers being improperly stored.
“Observed containers of food stored on the floor,” said the inspection.
