Harlem High School has issued a notification to the public regarding an incident on Friday.
According to Harlem High principal Casey Dees, school resource officers and administrators responded to a student altercation in the school’s main hallway near the commons area.
After an ensuing investigation, the Columbia County School District Police charged five students for being involved in the disruption.
“Each of these students will also be held accountable according to the Code of Conduct,” Dees said in the statement issued to parents, also emphasizing that no other students were injured in the fight, and afterward students resumed normal school operations.
“Safety of students and staff is a top priority, and we felt it was important that our parents were made aware of the incident,” said Dees.
Harlem High School encourages any parents or concerned parties to contact the main office at 706-556-5980 with any questions.
