North Augusta senior Austin Harrell made six 3-pointers in the Yellowjackets’ 58-54 over the Cross Creek Razorbacks on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at Jacket Arena.
The Yellowjackets came out of the gate hot, with three made 3-pointers in the first quarter. The score was 14-9.
Cross Creek fought back in the second quarter, going on a 13-2 run late and had the lead at halftime over the Yellowjackets, 27-21. Cross Creek held North Augusta to seven points in the second quarter, outscoring the Yellowjackets 18-7.

Harrell made two 3-pointers in the third quarter, keeping North Augusta in the game, trailing 37-43.
The Yellowjackets scored 21 in the final quarter and held the Razorbacks to 11. Harrell also added two more threes in the fourth.

Harrell’s 19 points led both teams in scoring on the night. Elijah Hall also added 13 points for the Yellowjackets, shooting 5-6 from the free-throw line. Amarri Wilcher helped North Augusta as well with 11 points.

Despite the loss, Cross Creek’s Jaquez Ellison led his team with 18 points. Guard Dontrel Smith also put-up double digits, finishing with 11 points.
The Yellowjackets’ only losses on the season have been doled out by 9-1 Grovetown, a team that’s beat them twice.

2020 3A Georgia High School state champion Cross Creek has once again started out this season hot with a 6-1 record before Tuesday’s game against North Augusta.
North Augusta’s (4-2) next game will be on the road against Hartsville (5-2) on Friday, Dec. 17. Cross Creek’s (6-2) next game will be at home against Byrnes High School (5-2) on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
