Home Depot will distribute free disaster relief kits

Three Home Depot locations in the Greater Augusta area will distribute free disaster relief kits to the community on Monday, Oct. 7, to help with cleanup efforts after Hurricane Helene.

Courtesy of the Home Depot Foundation, the drive-through distribution will start at 9 a.m. in stores #119, #1747 and #1117.

“The Home Depot Foundation and our partners are on the ground helping communities in crisis after Hurricane Helene,” stated a press release from Home Depot. “Earlier this week the Foundation announced a $2 million commitment to Hurricane Helene relief.”

The Home Depot locations are:

  • Store #119 – 499 Bobby Jones Expressway, Augusta
  • Store #1747 – 520 N Belair Road, Evans
  • Store #1117 – 1785 Whiskey Road, Aiken

Disaster relief kits will include cleaning supplies, trash bags, work gloves, personal protective equipment and other essentials to help cleanup efforts.

There is a limit of one kit per car, while supplies last.

“Several of our partners, including Convoy of Hope and Inspiritus, have been on the ground in the Augusta area since last week helping distribute supplies, remove debris and clear roadways,” stated a press release from Home Depot.
