How to spend your Fourth of July in Augusta

As Independence Day approaches, residents of Augusta can look forward to a variety of festive events taking place throughout the CSRA. 

Celebrate July 4 with a bang 

Fort Gordon will host an Independence Celebration on July 3 from 6-11 p.m. There will be a kiddie carnival, adult beverages, live entertainment, fireworks and more. For more information, visit the event Facebook page.

If you’re looking for a fireworks show, there will be plenty of options this July 4 including a fireworks display at the Augusta Commons starting at 9:30 p.m. Beginning at 5 p.m., the Commons will be bustling with food trucks, music and vendors in anticipation of the show. 

An opportunity to view fireworks while paddling on the Savannah River is being made possible by CSRA Kayak Rentals. Another firework viewing spot will be from the Partridge Inn’s Six South Rooftop Bar. Tickets for this event are $40 per person. 

The 25th Annual BOOM! in the Park will return to Evans Towne Center Park this year,  starting at 5:00 pm on July 4; the event will include a free concert featuring award-winning duo Maddie & Tae and The Voice winner Bryce Leatherwood. This event has free admission. 

The 3rd Annual Hephzibah Fireworks Extravaganza will be held on July 5 at the Hephzibah Ag. Center. Fireworks will start around 9:15 p.m.

Out and about on Independence Day 

Five Star Lanes Bowling Alley is offering a Fourth of July special: $80 for two hours of bowling on a Hyper Bowling Lane plus a large pepperoni pizza, for reservations of up to five guests. This special runs from the 4th to the 25th. 

Party like it’s 1776 with old-fashioned festivities at Independence Day at Meadow Garden. There will be a puppet theater, soldiers’ camp display and children’s activities including quill pen writing. This free admission event will be held on the 4th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Meadow Garden, located at 1320 Independence Drive in Augusta, is the historic home of George Walton, a Declaration of Independence signer

Get active with the Yankee Doodle Dash 5k/10k on July 4 starting at 7 a.m. at Mill Village Trailhead, 109 Eve St. in Augusta.
