The threat of Hurricane Helene is causing a shift in plans that will impact extra curricular activities at some of our area high schools, including some sports events.

But, at least as of Wednesday evening, there’s no plan for a wholesale washout of Friday night football.

As of Wednesday afternoon, and according to a Facebook post from the Richmond County School System, all Thursday after-school activities after 6 p.m. — including any scheduled sports contests — will be canceled. Although the Thursday school day will commence as usual.

Fox Creek’s home game with Williston-Elko was slated for a 7:30 p.m. Wednesday kickoff.
