With all the extreme heat of the past few weeks, Vera Stewart is thinking about cooler times of the year.

And fall in Augusta means the annual Exchange Club Fair.

“As you all know, in the summer we show “reshows” of some of our favorite shows from the regular year.  Since football preempts our show a good bit in the fall, hopefully many of you have not seen this show and will enjoy thinking about the cooler fall days and of course when the Exchange Club Fair is in Augusta,” according to Stewart.

Some of the yummy food associated with the fair and fall include her loaded sweet potato fries, cinnamon roll waffles on a stick, cheesesteak calzones and caramel apple upside down cake.

“I think we all have our favorites from the Fair and hopefully you will get some good ideas that you can use this summer when the children want to get in the kitchen,” she said.

While The VeryVera Show is in its summer hiatus, Stewart is readying for Season 11 and filming of new episodes will soon be underway, but until then, her kitchen is busy as it’s filled with campers.

“We are definitely enjoying having our Campers at The Cottage this summer.  I’m sure you’ve all noticed all of the activity on Wheeler Road.  Camp is celebrating its 19th year, and with well over 100 students just on our waiting list, it has become a favorite for school age children all across the CSRA,” she said.

The VeryVera Show airs at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on WJBF-TV.
