The beginning of a new season is always exciting and sentimental for me. I am pinching myself that it’s Season 11 and that we have added more viewers for this fall with three new markets joining our family. I am so thrilled to showcase Augusta and the state of Georgia, and we will incorporate aspects of that all season  Set your schedules or your recorder to make sure you don’t miss a single one.

Pearson Farm in Fort Valley, Georgia, is partnering with us this week, and I made all three recipes using pecans. The Signature Chicken Salad was a favorite in The VeryVera Cafe for years, as well as customers through our website. The secret ingredients are the flavorful pecans and tarragon. The recipe takes you through each step easily and is a favorite of our book, now going into the fifth printing.

The Bourbon Pecan Bread Pudding will be recalled by all you Costco shoppers, as one of our three recipes sold in the Southeast Costco stores. The secret again is pecans, along with croissants that have been soaked in a custard-like filling and then baked to a toasty goodness.

Finally, my favorite of Pearson’s products is the Pecan meal. The meal is freshly grounded and maintains good consistency for baking.  That toasted Pecan flavor is what makes our Pecan Sandies the best you ever tasted.  I hope you try this recipe for sure by ordering this meal on-line.

Finally our Cookbook is on sale through 8/31 for 50% off for our one-time only sale each year in celebration of my mother’s birthday week.  She would have been 105 years old, and the book is dedicated to her. Please tune at 12:30 p.m. Thursday for the show or be sure to watch Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. on WJBF Channel 6.
