“Rent,” “Anastasia,” “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Cats” are coming to the Columbia County Performing Arts Center as part of its inaugural Broadway Columbia County season.

“’Anastasia’ is the newest of them; the other three are very classic Broadway shows. I don’t know of anyone who hasn’t at least heard of them,” said Matt Jameson, general manager for the Columbia County Performing Arts Center, of the season that was announced July 29.

Season ticket packages will go on sale Aug. 23. Three packages are available and begin at $220.

“Anastasia” is scheduled for 8 p.m., Oct. 15; “Fiddler On The Roof” will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26; the 25th anniversary/farewell tour of “Rent” will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7, 2022; and “Cats” will be at 7 p.m. April 12-13, 2022.

“Nederlander (National Markets) and the PAC staff have worked to secure a strong inaugural season for our amazing community and surrounding area. I think the season has something for everyone to enjoy, and I can’t wait to get it started and share memorable experiences for years to come,” said Columbia County Commission Chairman Doug Duncan, in a news release.

Jameson said the Broadway season isn’t the only entertainment on the theater’s schedule thus far.

Other events slated for the Columbia County Performing Arts Theater include Frankie Valli and The Four Season at 8 p.m. Nov. 5, Disney Princess: The Concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 15.

“We’re working on some projects around Christmas,” Jameson said.

The Columbia County Ballet will perform “The Nutcracker” Dec. 10, but other events haven’t been confirmed yet, he said.

The 2,100-seat facility opened May 15 with a price tag just under $40 million.

Several area groups have performed in the space since the theater opened, and Jameson said they’ve provided positive feedback.
