The health inspection world grades a score below 70 as failing, however, no restaurants received were rewarded with a failing score from inspections on Sept. 9-13.
Worst scores in this week’s health inspection
This week’s lowest health inspection score was an 82 earned by the Quality Inn and Suites, located at 2562 Center West Parkway, Augusta.
The inspector noted that the hotel did not supply a handwashing sink with single use towels, which resulted in a 4 point reduction.
Deducting nine more points, the health inspector reported sausage placed on a countertop at where it fell below the proper storing temperature of 48 degrees Fahrenheit.
Following the Quality Inn inspection, the second lowest score of the week was an 83 given to Buffalo Wild Wings, located at 120 Robert C Daniel Parkway, Augusta.
The inspector reported finding unclean surfaces and an employee wearing a wristwatch during active food prep.
“Observed black buildup inside the bulk ice machine,” the report stated. “Observed black buildup around several soda machines.”
According to the report, the inspector also noticed flies and buildup on cooking equipment within the main kitchen.
The third lowest score of the week was a score of 84 given to A&D Buffalo, located at 3450 Wrightsboro Road, Suite 2336, Augusta.
On the inspection date Sept. 10, the inspector reported finding chicken past written usage date.
“Observed raw chicken stored with use by date of 8/7/24. Observed chicken in three large containers with no labeling,” the report stated.
In addition to finding bug spray stored in an improper place, the inspector noted seeing gnats and an employee wearing a wristband during active food prep.
“Observed several gnats throughout facility,” the report stated.
