The health inspection world grades a score below 70 as failing, however, no businesses received a failing score from inspections on Sept. 16-20.
Worst scores in this week’s health inspection
This week’s lowest health inspection score was a 75 earned by the Studio 6 Augusta, located at 3421 Wrightsboro Road.
The inspector noted that the facility had a roach infested room, which resulted in a 5 point reduction.
“Room 349 has roach infestation; block room until treatment performed by certified pest control operator,” the report stated.
Deducting two more points, the health inspector reported bathrooms in need of resurfacing and cleaning, in addition to dirty kitchen appliances and sheets.
“Clean inside kitchen cabinets, microwaves and replace rusty microwave freezers,” the report stated. “Replace soiled linens/mattress covers/mattresses. Provide mattress pads or covers on all beds.”
Following the hotel inspection, the second lowest score of the week was a 76 given to China Wok, located at 2514 Tobacco Road Unit D in Hephzibah.
The inspector reported observing chicken stored over pork in a walk-in freezer and no prep or discard dates on sliced vegetables.
“Observed food stored on floor in walk-in-cooler and walk-in-freezer,” the report stated. “Keep all food at least six inches off the floor.”
The third lowest score of the week was a score of 78 given to Twin Peaks, located at 277 Robert C. Daniel Parkway, Augusta.
From the inspection, the inspector observed employees not wearing proper gear while food prepping.
“Observed food service employees not wearing beard restraints during active food prep,” the report stated.
In addition to finding build up on sides of equipment at the grill line, the inspector noted seeing gnats and flies throughout the establishment.
