The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced plans for a slab replacement project on Interstate 20.
The work will begin on Monday, April 26th, weather-permitting. Work will be done from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. It will be eastbound and westbound from mile marker 172 in McDuffie County to mile marker 192 in Columbia County.
This is a maintenance project to replace failed and bumpy concrete slabs. There are 41 locations marked for the project. Large sections, up to a foot thick, will be removed and new concrete poured.
GDOT says the project will take several weeks because of the large area involved.
