Aiken County Sheriff’s Office investigators have dismantled a chop shop operation and recovered several high-end stolen Dodge Chargers and vehicle components tied to thefts across multiple jurisdictions in the region.

According to Maj. Jason Griffin with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, the case began on Monday, when the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office provided information about a stolen vehicle that may have been located at a property on the 900 block of Dougherty Road in Aiken.

When deputies arrived at the location, they discovered what appeared to be a functioning chop shop. Investigators recovered multiple stolen vehicles and car parts at the scene.
