The Irish American Heritage Society will host its annual grand marshal ball at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at the downtown Augusta Marriott.

The grand marshal ball is a members-only, black-tie ticketed event attended by more than 350 guests, officials said in a statement.

The ball serves as the official kickoff to the 2025 St. Patrick’s Day season and is one of Augusta’s premier cultural celebrations. The evening will include a seated dinner and feature Frank Groome, Consulate General of Ireland in Atlanta, as guest speaker.

The highlight of the evening is the society’s announcement of its 2025 dignitaries:

  • Grand Marshal
  • Irish Lady of the Year
  • Irish Family of the Year

These honorees will play a central role in the 2025 St. Patrick’s Day Parade, a cherished Augusta tradition that is organized and operated entirely by volunteers from the IAHS.
