Jackson man identified one week after gruesome discovery

104 3rd Street, Jackson, SC

Date: November 22, 2021

A Jackson man, who was found dead with his hands and feet bound in his cellar, has been identified as the homeowner.

Eldon W. Ledford, 61, of 104 3rd St., was found dead in his home on Nov. 14. He may have been dead for weeks, authorities said, and an exact cause of death could be hard to determine.

Jackson police responded to a home on that Sunday night for a well-being check. When the officer arrived, a foul odor was emitting from the residence and the body of a male was discovered in the basement.

“The victim was in a stage of decomposition and his hands and feet were bound,” Coroner Darryl Ables said.

No arrest or possible motive has been released.
