Adventurer, author and television personality Josh Gates is set to bring his live tour “An Evening of Legends, Mysteries, and Tales of Adventure” to the Columbia County Performing Arts Center (CCPAC) on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Gates is best known as the host and executive producer of Discovery Channel’s “Expedition Unknown,” which takes viewers across the globe to explore “archaeological discoveries, historic mysteries and scientific breakthroughs,” according to a press release from Columbia County.

He also hosts “Josh Gates Tonight,” which Collider called “the best talk show going for film nerds and genre fans,” where he has welcomed guests such as Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Bacon, John Cleese and Stephen Soderbergh.

His adventures have taken him to more than 100 countries, from archaeological digs in the Mediterranean to scaling Mt. Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua.

Gates has also led audiences through Syfy’s “Destination Truth” and joined Hollywood icons like Christopher Lloyd in “Expedition: Back to the Future” and William Shatner in Shark Week’s “Shark Trek.”

With degrees in Archaeology and Drama from Tufts University, Gates serves as a trustee of the Archaeological Institute of America and is a fellow of The Explorers Club. His travels are also chronicled in his bestselling book “Memoirs of a Monster Hunter.”

Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and at the Queensborough Box Office at CCPAC, located at 1000 Market Street, in Evans, Ga.
