Land Bank wraps up 2024 with final board meet of the year

The Augusta, Georgia Land Bank Authority held its last board meeting of 2024 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Augusta, Georgia Land Bank Authority (AGLBA) held its final board meeting of the year on Tuesday afternoon, where multiple foreclosure assistance and purchase requests were approved. 

Approved Requests

Tuesday’s meeting kicked off with the approval of a request from Cheryl Oosterhout for AGLBA’s assistance with foreclosure on property located at 2065 Ellis St. This request was approved in a board vote of 4-1. 

Following this, a request was considered from Wayne Millar and Irwington LLC to purchase several AGLBA parcels for construction of single family homes. 

These properties include 614 Sibley St., 25 Watkins St. and 618 Sibley St. 

After discussing this request in a legal session, the board voted unanimously to approve it. 

 A request was approved from Larry Harris to purchase 3123 Bell Drive for new construction of single family homes. This request was approved in a unanimous board vote. 

Finally, a request was approved from Frederick Gibbons to purchase several AGLBA parcels for construction of single family rental homes. 

These properties include 107 E Watkins St., 845 First St. and 822 First St. 

This request was approved in a unanimous vote.
