Lane and road closures to happen soon in Columbia County

There will be upcoming lane closures in Columbia County next week.

Starting Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 8 a.m., Columbia County, in cooperation with BCS Inc., will temporarily experience a lane closure on North Belair Road. The lane closure will be at the intersection with Evans to Locks Road until Thursday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m.

“Due to paving repair, no through traffic will be allowed southbound on North Belair Road at the intersection with Evans to Locks Road,” stated a press release from Columbia County. “[A] detour map will be marked.”

“If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe,” stated a press release from Columbia County.

There will also be intermittent lane closures for the Fury’s Ferry Road Widening Project from Wednesday, Sept. 18, to the following Friday, Sept. 27, during the hours 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Contractors with E.R. Snell will also continue construction activities related to the roadway widening project for Fury’s Ferry Road in Columbia County.

There will be temporary lane closure at the intersection of North Belair Road and Fury’s Ferry Road from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. starting Wednesday, Sept. 18, to Friday, Sept. 20.

“Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones,” stated a press release from Columbia County.

When approaching a work zone, the Columbia County government is reminding drivers to slow down and allow extra distance between vehicles.
