Drivers in Columbia County should expect temporary lane closures this week as crews complete utility repairs at the intersection of Baker Place Road and William Few Parkway.

According to county officials, the closures will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, weather permitting.

Reeves Construction Company is coordinating the work with Columbia County, and motorists are urged to use caution in the area.

“Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected,” the county advised.

Drivers are also encouraged to plan ahead.

“If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe,” the release stated.
