Drivers should prepare for temporary lane closures at two locations in Columbia County this week as construction crews complete utility and roadwork.
On Thursday, Oct. 2, lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Horizon South Parkway and Gateway Boulevard.
The work will be carried out in cooperation with E.R. Snell, weather permitting, according to a press release from Columbia County.
In a separate project, Reeves Construction Company will oversee intermittent lane closures on Baker Place Road from Wednesday, Oct. 1, through Wednesday, Oct. 8.
The closures will occur daily between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., weather permitting.
Officials are urging drivers to use caution around the work zones.
“Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected,” the county stated in a press release.
Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes or allow additional time for commuting.
